Leading Learning for New Levels of Excellence

Strategic priorities for the Leading Learning Team in 2018 are derived from the CESA Strategy for Leading Catholic Education to New Levels of Excellence and focus in particular on enhancing Catholic Identity through improving student learning and wellbeing.

In partnerships with schools, the Lead Learning Team makes contributions to our statement of commitment to learning and, in particular, to the development of capabilities.

To every child in a Catholic School:
We are committed to knowing you deeply. We value you as a capable and competent learner and will support your active engagement in the learning process. In partnership with you and your family we commit to high expectations for your learning progress, wellbeing and achievement. You matter to us.
 (CESA 2016)

Capabilities play a significant role in equipping young people to live, relate and work successfully in the twenty-first century.
“In the Australian Curriculum, capability encompasses knowledge, skills, behaviours and dispositions. Students develop capability when they apply knowledge and skills confidently, effectively and appropriately in complex and changing circumstances, in their learning at school and in their lives outside school.” (ACARA)
Students need opportunities to develop capabilities over time and across the curriculum.

The Leading Learning Team offers partnerships with schools through networks and projects to contribute to:

· Continue enhancing leadership capacity
· Enhancing Catholic Identity
· evidence-informed improvement
