COURSE DESCRIPTION The Language and Literacy Levels across the Australian Curriculum: EALD students is the tool used by teachers of EAL learners to assess and plan for their language and literacy development. The Levels provide detailed information about students' written and oral language development which can be used for assessment and programming purposes.

Also, schools that are intending to submit EAL data in 2020 need to ensure that teachers who conduct the assessments have been trained in using the Levels.
