NETWORK FOCUS

The Living Learning Leading Framework aspires for learners to be thriving people, capable learners, leaders for the world God desires. The Middle Years Network provides the opportunity to 'reimagine' teaching and learning for students in Years 6-9 and inquire into pedagogical practices which create learning environments that encourage students in the middle years of schooling to thrive and flourish, and that support their academic, social and emotional development.

Thursday 07 March (all participants)  9.00am - 4.00pm - The Lakes Resort, West Lakes
Wednesday 15 May (all participants)  9.00am - 4.00pm - Venue to be advised
Wednesday 11 September (all participants)  9.00am - 4.00pm - Venue to be advised

Wednesday 06 November (all participants)  9.00am - 4.00pm - Venue to be advised

AITSL NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE:

Standard 1 - Know students and how they learn
      1.1 Physical, social and intellectual development and characteristics of students
      1.2 Understand how students learn
Standard 3 - Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning
       3.6 Evaluate and improve teaching programs
Standard 6 - Engage in professional learning
      6.3 Engage with colleagues and improve practice

INTENDED FOR:
Participation is invited from:

  • Leaders of learning with responsibility for leading pedagogical change in the Middle Years in their school as a school improvement priority (e.g. School leaders, curriculum and year level coordinators, and teachers in Years 6-9).
  • Leaders of learning supporting the transition of Year 7s into middle and secondary schooling contexts

Two participants per school are encouraged, as well as leaders of learning from school clusters (primary school and secondary school partners; R-12 settings).

Cost: no workshop fee

Catering: morning tea and lunch will be  provided
