Network: Pedagogical Leadership for EAL Learners

NETWORK FOCUS

  • Re-imagine EAL in schools - What does this mean for our EAL Students? What does this mean for leaders/teachers, school communities and the Catholic Education system?
  • Collectively support schools to implement strategic plans for accelerating English as an Additional Language learning; informed by key CESA documents
  • Support development of learning partnerships within the network and beyond in which participants learn with, from and on behalf of others, to generate new knowledge and inform system change
  • Build leadership capacity through a focus on developing social emotional intelligence, for working effectively with colleagues and leading professional learning
  • Engage with research based learning about pedagogy and language that promotes high quality teaching and learning and builds a culture of high expectations for EAL learners

Network members and their colleagues will have the opportunity to access specific professional learning: Scaffolding language and literacy within the curriculum (previously known as Reading to Learn). further information will be disseminated upon registration for the EAL Network.
