Network Focus

This session in the series aims to identify current issues related to fundamental principles of assessment and provide practical applications that support teachers to develop learning that ensures all students are able to demonstrate their best evidence of learning. Teachers are invited to bring along assessment task exemplars to reflect, review and understand how current tasks can be redesigned to meet the diverse range of leaners within their classroom.

We have invited Hassan Mekawy from the IEA (Institute of Educational Assessors) to facilitate this full day workshop which will be dedicated to helping senior secondary teachers understand cognitive demand in assessment, constructs in assessment and differentiation.

The Outcomes of this workshop will enhance educator’s capacity to develop:

  • a theoretical and practical understanding of learning taxonomies
  • understand, identify and assess learning constructs
  • evaluate assessment approaches and differentiate assessment strategies to improve student outcomes

Facilitators: Hassan Mekawy, Institute of Educational Assessors
