2020 Continuity and Transition in Languages and
Cultures Learning and Teaching

Last day to register: Thursday 27 February 2020

NETWORK FOCUS

The learning of languages and cultures and its transition points (from primary to secondary, from compulsory to elective, from secondary to the SACE years) must present learners with the opportunity to continue their learning journey (R – 12) in an effective continuum that demonstrates progression in learning and achievement.

The 2018 – 2020 CESA Strategy states that “All Catholic schools have articulated clear B – 12+ pathways and ensured successful transition for children, students and families”. The Continuity and Transition in Languages and Cultures Learning and Teaching Network will work with 2 clusters of schools in ensuring smooth transition between schools and education levels and also continuity of learning.

Members of the Cluster:

  • will attend 3 school-based cluster meetings
  • will show evidence that their involvement in the 2020 Continuity and Transition in Languages and Cultures Learning and Teaching contributes to their school’s Annual Improvement Plan
  • will visit other schools in the cluster
  • will provide professional feedback to each other
  • will contribute to the writing of a cluster’s Transition Strategy
  • will be supported to undertake activities relating to the cluster project
