Raising Literacy: Building Language for Literacy for Teachers and Educators of Children 3 to 8 Years

The CESA Early Childhood Network (ECN) returns this year with a special focus on building children’s language for literacy learning and development for children 3 to 8 years.

Network meetings are not seminars or projects. They provide teachers and educators with opportunities to connect, share, and be inspired and to learn from and with each other and from specialists in the fields of child development, language and literacy.

Over the year, the network meetings will build on:

• ·         Your repertoire of resources; books, songs, rhymes and more
• ·         Your knowledge, understandings and practices for language and literacy development
• ·         Children’s existing meaning making practices through a variety of texts
• ·         Children’s existing language and literacy development using books, songs and rhymes.

At the term one network meeting participants will receive a free literacy pack, which will be added to at each term’s meeting.

INTENDED FOR:
All CESA leaders, teachers and educators of children in prior to school and first years of school settings are invited to be part of the network.

Cost: No fee

Catering: Light afternoon tea will be provided
