NETWORK FOCUS

The Living Learning Leading Framework aspires for learners to be thriving people, capable learners, leaders for the world God desires. The Literacy and Numeracy R-9 network will support school leaders and teachers to build onto school based strategic plans, curriculum reform and innovation strategies to address local school needs and achieve improved outcomes in literacy and numeracy.

This Network will focus on:

  • the process of leading improvement in schools
  • building the capacity of pedagogical leader(s) to lead professional learning in literacy and/or numeracy
  • exploring contemporary research and the implementation of evidence based strategies that positively impact on the teaching and learning of these core areas
  • building understanding of the general capabilities as a vehicle for adding depth and richness to learning

AITSL NATIONAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE:
Standard 5 - Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
      5.1 Assess student learning
      5.4 Interpret student data
Standard 6 - Engage in professional learning
      6.3 Engage with colleagues and improve practice

INTENDED FOR:
Educators with a school-wide responsibility for leading the implementation of a school improvement priority in literacy and/or numeracy. At least two participants from a school are encouraged. To ensure success of learning throughout the school, the Principal or the Principal's delegate will be required to attend nominated sessions.
Network participants, including CEO consultants, will be co-researchers in order to learn with each other and from each other, as well as learning on behalf of CESA as a system. 

Cost: no workshop fee

Catering: morning tea and lunch will be  provided
