Special Education Key Teacher Day.

COURSE INFORMATION

Term 2, 2014, Monday 12 May 2014, from 9.00am to 4.00pm and held at the Catholic Education Conference Centre Rooms 7 and 8, 116 George Street, Thebarton.

CORE FOCI AND PRIORITIES

• National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) - Presenter Jo Wickes from the National Disability Insurance Agency
• Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School students with disability - Presenter Stephanie Grant
• Occupational Therapy and the classroom teacher - Presenter Jade Bilusich, Occupational Therapist from Autism SA
• SACE Special Provisions - Presenters Lisa Wills and Jamie Dunnill, from the SACE Office.

AITSL AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE

• Standard 1: Know students and how they learn (1.2, 1.5, 1.6)
• Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning (3.7)
• Standard 5: Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning (5.3)
• Standard 6: Engage in professional learning (6.2)
• Standard 7: Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community (7.2, 7.4)

INTENDED FOR

Key teachers, special education coordinators or school leaders with responsibility for special education.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

A full day session. Duration of 7 hours. 

Closing date for registration is Thursday 8 May 2014.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements.

Participants are asked not to use the George Street car park. Please refer to the attached map for car parking details.
