This professional learning opportunity for early years teachers will examine how the ‘Engaging Young Children in Number and Measurement’ resource can inform teaching and learning in mathematics.
This book was developed to assist teachers to understand and engage more deeply with the mathematical thinking of young children and was launched in term three this year. Several copies have been delivered to every Catholic primary school. Further copies of this book are available to purchase via the CESA Registration Centre.
Through exploring the theory, concepts and strategies that underpin this resource, teachers will also revisit the ‘Early Years Numeracy Observation Assessment’ (a tool for collecting data on children’s understanding of number concepts).
TRT funding is available for one teacher per school (for those schools eligible).
