Indigenous Education Focus Teacher Program 2014 Day 1  Leading Change: Working together to make a difference.

COURSE INFORMATION

Term 1, 2014, Thursday 6th March 2014, from 9.00am to 4.00pm (Registration at 8.45am).
Held at the Sunnybrae Function Centre (Cheese Room)
Tikalara Street, Regency Park SA 5010

PRESENTERS AND CORE FOCI
Professor Peter Buckskin PSM, FACE will present on:

  • the concept of leadership and the ethical
  • being an 'agent of change'
  • the challenges and rewards in pursuing the Reconciliation Agenda as non -Aboriginal people

Associate Professor Peter Gale will present on:

  • Indigenous Rights and the Recognition of Indigenous Peoples in the Constitution

Special Guest Johathan Lindsay-Tjapaltjarri Hermawan will build our capacity for cultural intelligence in the 21st Century 

Our 'Lighthouse' school will share its exciting work in the area of Indigenous education

AITSL AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS FOR TEACHERS INCLUDE

  • Standard 1: Know students and how they learn
  • Standard 6: Engage in professional learning
  • Standard 7: Engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community

INTENDED FOR

Indigenous Education Focus Teachers and school leaders with responsibility for Indigenous education.

PROGRAM OUTLINE

A full day session. Duration of 7 hours. 

Closing date for registration is Wednesday, 19 February 2014.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements (GF, Vegetarian, Lactose Free).

TRT may be available upon request.
