The Early Years Numeracy Observation Assessment resource (book and accompanying DVD) has now been published and distributed for use in schools.

Since the launch of the book, the Numeracy Team has offered three workshops on "how to effectively use this tool to gather data on students' learning in numeracy" in metropolitan Adelaide.

FOCUS:

  • the importance of early number understanding
  • the different components of the Early Years Numeracy Observation  Assessment, for example: counting strategies, word problems etc.
  • how to carry out the observation assessment
  • how this assessment is used to collect, analyse and interpret students’ data to inform learning in numeracy

Early Years teachers and School Leaders

The Thebarton Community Centre venue is located on the corner of South Road and Ashwin Parade, Torrensville (car park entrance is via South Road).
