Australian Curriculum: Geography - Orientation Workshops F-10
This half-day workshop is for curriculum leaders and key teachers responsible for the implementtion of Australian Curriculum: Geography.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to explore the content, understandings, skills, inquiry model and achievement standards of the curriculum. A key aspect of this familiarisation process is the articulation of the key concepts of the geography curriculum. These concepts form the basis of the geographical thinking which is fundamental to the successful teaching and assessment of the geography curriculum. A variety of resources will also be showcased.
This workshop will be facilitated by Malcolm McInerney who is experienced Geography educator. Malcolm worked as an advisor to the writers of the Australian Curriculum - Geography and is currently chair of a highly the Australian Geography Teachers' Association.
