Repeated Workshop - New Date
Language and Literacy Levels: Familiarisation Day

This one day workshop is suitable for teachers who have prior training and experience in using the SACSA ESL Scope Scales and a knowledge of functional grammar.
This Professional Learning session references the following AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers:
Standard 5: Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning
Standard 6: Engage in professional learning
Duration: 6 hours
The workshop is suitable for primary and secondary teachers.
The workshop will provide an opportunity for:
- Guided exploration of the new Levels document
- Comparison of the main differences and similarities between the Scales and the Levels
- Using the Levels to assess written language
The main focus of this workshop will be on the organisation and use of the Levels; there will be no explicit teaching of the metalanguage. For those who need to learn about the language within the Levels, please register for the 2 day workshop: Assessment for Learning using the Language and Literacy Levels.
Teachers are asked to bring several student writing samples to assess during this workshop.
