Shame: Helper & Hindrance in Behaviour Change
This seminar is being offered only to the people who participated in the two Working Restoratively In Catholic Schools sessions in 2012.
Presenter Bill Hansberry
Our ability to help people make positive changes in their behaviour is severely limited unless we have an empathic awareness of how the shame family of emotions works. Shame can prevent or promote positive behaviour change, depending on our ability to spot it, and manage it.
This session practical session is based on Bill’s work in Restorative Justice as well as his coaching and mentoring experience. Participants will gain a deeper insight into the emotional dynamics of confrontation and will be better equipped to recognise and manage shame-based behaviours in those they work with.
