The combined Leaders of Learning and Inclusive Education Leaders Network day will provide an opportunity for Leaders to come together to deeply explore our collective approach to ensuring Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) are effectively and consistently embedded across Catholic Schools in South Australia.

This day will feature a keynote presentation by experts in MTSS at the Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) and will be grounded in research, providing an evidence-based approach to discussions and planning for effective MTSS practices across our schools. Specifically, there will be a focus on:

• cognitive similarities and how students learn,
• teaching that aligns with how students learn – the components of high-quality Tier 1 instruction,
• diverse needs and cognitive differences and
• school-wide implementation of multi-tiered systems of support - designing staffing structures (teachers, leaders, specialists and paraprofessionals), timetabling Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions, and optimising instructional intensity.

Led by the Excellence, Equity and Inclusion section, expert guidance will be provided by our Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy Team; Diversity and Inclusion Team; and CILAH Team. Participants will have the opportunity to consider current MTSS practices in your school; identified areas of strength and opportunities for growth; consider strategies for improvement; and determination of roles and responsibilities at the school level to ensure effective practices are in place.

Please note: this day is limited to the nominated Leader of Learning and Inclusive Education Leader in each school.
