This professional learning session supports schools participating in the CESA DIBELS Collection and Dashboard. It is designed for teachers and Education Support Officers who are new to the DIBELS assessment process, as well as schools newly participating in the CESA collection.  Participants will build capability in:  

• Understanding the purpose of DIBELS testing to identify and monitor early literacy development and inform instruction. 

• Administering and scoring DIBELS assessments. 

• Recording data accurately for the CESA DIBELS Collection Template and Dashboard.  

• Introduction to Progress Monitoring testing. 

The session emphasises consistency, fidelity, and data accuracy to support effective case management and data-informed decision making at the school level. 

AITSL National Professional Standards for Teachers Include

Standard 1: Know students and how they learn - through accurate identification of early literacy needs

Standard 3: Plan for and implement effective teaching and learning - by integrating assessment routines that inform instruction.

Standard 5: Assess, provide feedback and report on student learning - by strengthening skills in reliable administration, scoring and data interpretation.
