Jacquie Taylor  -  Retired Principal, University Lecturer, Dare to Lead Consultant, Curriculum Writer

Jacquie Taylor, whose curriculum units with Indigenous themes have been published extensively, will share with us aspects of the thinking and planning processes she uses to develop units of work.  She will provide models which help maintain clarity of purpose and ensure that the time commitment given in planning and writing, produces the desired outcomes of quality units of work that are teacher friendly and easily implemented by colleagues.

Dolores Amos  -  Environmental Resource Officer and Indigenous Education Resource Officer, Tatachilla Lutheran College (R-12)

Participants will learn about the development of Kaurna Tappa (walking trail) within Tatachilla Lutheran College’s five acre revegetated site. Critical to this initiative was the consultation process undertaken with Indigenous community members. Dolores will also discuss practical ways in which the Junior School Indigenous bush food garden complements the school curriculum.

Chris Nobbs  -  Education Officer, South Australian Museum

Our first ‘road trip’ for 2013! We will catch the free tram into the city to visit the Aboriginal Cultures Gallery and the Archives at the Museum. Chris Nobbs will explain how the resources and displays there and at other Outreach Education sites, can be used to engage students in inquiry-based teaching and learning programs in support of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander priority. Chris will also highlight the potential for your classes to visit the Migration Museum, Art Gallery and Botanic Gardens for different perspectives on how to engage students in learning more about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and their histories.
