Primary Numeracy Network for Key Teachers

Catholic Education SA is seeking expressions of interest from teachers holding leadership roles in mathematics and/or numeracy to join the Primary Numeracy Network.  The network aims to:

  • build expertise in numeracy and mathematics teaching and learning;
  • build capacity in leading numeracy and mathematics at school level;
  • use data to inform learning in mathematics and numeracy;
  • explore ways to engage parents in mathematics and numeracy;
  • create opportunities for the leaders to network;
  • engage with current trends / issues in education, particularly in the area of mathematics and numeracy;
  • implement the Australian Curriculum in their school.

In 2013, the network teachers will meet as a Professional Learning team for one day each term.  Participating  teachers will be expected to attend all four sessions.  Participants will also be expected to undertake follow-up activities in their schools.  All the sessions will be run at the Catholic Education Office, 116 George Street, Thebarton.

The dates are as follows.  All are from 9.00 am - 4.00 pm

Term 1:  Tuesday 12 March,  Room 6

Term 2:  Monday 3 June,  Room 7

Term 3:  Wednesday 21 August,  Room 6

Term 4:  Thursday 24 October,  Room 7

Key teachers who participated in the Primary Numeracy Network in 2012 will be contacted by email and they do not need to re-apply.
