Two Sessions Available | 9am, Thursday 22 May or 2pm, Wednesday 27 August 2025

This introductory HR Fundamentals session will provide a broad overview of core human resource responsibilities and best practices tips for new leaders. Experienced leaders who would like a to attend a refresher session are also welcome to participate. The session will broadly focus on the employee lifecycle, understanding the employment obligations and entitlements as well as practical tools available for effectively managing HR processes. During the session we will cover the following:

  • Key HR responsibilities of people managers
  • Overview of the employee lifecycle
  • Understanding employment types, contracts, and entitlements
  • Managing leave, attendance, and workplace flexibility
  • Introduction to performance development and performance management
  • Tools, templates, and resources available via the intranet

This session is recommended for New and experienced line Managers within Schools & the Catholic Education Office.
