2025 CESA Religious Leaders Day
Tuesday 20 May 2025 | 8:30 am (for 9am start) to 4:00 pm
CESA Religious Leaders Day is the key CESA occasion for all APRIMs, other designated religious leaders and aspiring religious leaders from around the state.
As always, our Religious Leaders Day is an excellent opportunity to develop our religious leadership exercised in each school and shared across the system.
The location for Religious Leaders Day 2024 will be the Glenelg Golf Club James Melrose Rd, Novar Gardens, SA 5040.
This year we will be having Tony Alonso as a guest speaker.
Tony Alonso is a Catholic composer of sacred music and a scholar whose work responds to the diverse realities of contemporary culture. His many compositions, which appear in compilations and hymnals throughout the world, embrace multicultural musical expressions and reflect a commitment to strong ritual song. Tony’s scholarly work lies at the intersection of liturgical theology and cultural studies. He holds a Bachelor of Music in choral conducting, a Master of Arts in theology and a PhD in religion from Emory University.
Tony is doing two presentations. The first will be ‘Living Eucharistically’ - This session will explore the fluid relationship between liturgy, belief, and daily living through the mandate of Pope Francis, rooting us in a vision that sees all of life eucharistically.
The afternoon keynote is ‘In Endless Song’ - This workshop will explore the relationship between the music we make in worship and the music we experience in the world, inviting ways beyond polarized conversations about musical styles to a deeper reflection on the richness of God’s gift of song.
Religious Leaders, please feel free to invite Music Directors, Choir directors and any staff involved in Liturgical Music. Spots are limited and capped at 150.
