'We are living, learning and playing on Kaurna Land'

ABOUT THE EVENT:

Reception to Year 6 Aboriginal Students in Catholic Schools and their teachers are invited to this Thriving People Primary Event, which will be held on Thursday 10 April.

The event will be held at the Carclew House, 11 Jeffcott Street, North Adelaide. A significant opportunity for Aboriginal students to build relationships, celebrate together and learn about their cultures and identities. Students and teachers will experience a range of contemporary and emerging art forms, providing all participants with new ways of exploring and expressing culture and to consider new avenues for art making in the 21st century. On completion of the Thriving People event, students will return to school.

REQUIREMENTS:

Students will be required to wear their sports uniform and are asked to bring their hat, sunscreen, a water bottle and snacks/recess. Please ensure students bring hats and sunscreen for outdoor activities. BBQ Lunch will be provided (with Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten Free options). For more specific dietary requirements, schools will need to organise lunch. Donuts will also be provided with lunch.

Teachers are asked to bring their school First Aid Kit, mobile phone, and to wear their school badges. Signed consent forms and an attendance list will be kept by teachers.

Schools will be responsible for their own transport arrangements and costs.

REGISTRATION:

Registration for this event is completed by entering one registration per school and entering the number of students and teachers attending in the boxes when prompted. It is also important to include when prompted the main contact person at the school for this event.

An email will be sent to Focus Teachers with the student consent form, full itinerary of the day and a map.

Registrations close at 5.00pm on Wednesday 26 February 2025.
