Setting up for success in 2013 (Early Career Teacher Professional Learning Day)

Target group:

Early career teachers (teachers in the first two years of teaching)

Activity Overview:

Each term the early career teacher team facilitates a professional learning day for early career teachers. The Term 4 program will include the following opportunities:

Reflect on 2012 and set goals for 2013

Converse with teachers at a similar career stage

Learn more about professional associations

Participate in workshops led by consultants from the Catholic Education Office:

• Exploring the Cross-curriculum priority: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and cultures
• SACE – Preparing for 2013
• What to do when a student says ‘No’: Working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• A-B-C: Antecedent-Behaviour-Consequence
• Differentiating curriculum

Preparation:

• Email questions you wish to have answered in the workshops above PRIOR to 1 November to ria.wong@cesa.catholic.edu.au .
• Bring materials for writing/recording and wear your school badge.
• Participants are encouraged to engage with technology by bringing their own device.
