Description
Makers Empire has partnered with Catholic Education South Australia to facilitate the Kids in Space 3D Design Project. This project will support teachers to design and run student-led STEM projects addressing real world problems, with a space focus, using the design thinking problem solving methodology, as well as supporting students and teachers to effectively use 3D design software and 3D printing hardware.
Selected participating schools are required to identify between 2-5 teachers to attend two face-to-face professional learning days. Teachers will be supported to design a unit of work to aligned to the Technologies Curriculum.
Teachers will facilitate their Kids in Space 3D design unit with their students throughout the remainder of Term 1 and Term 2, preparing their students to showcase their innovative design in Term 2, Week10. Schools will receive support from the Makers Empire Team as required.
Teachers and students will participate in a student-led Showcase Day, which will be hosted in an expo style, allowing students to share their designs and thinking with one another.
