Aboriginal Education Focus Teacher
Network Day
Wednesday 21 February 2024

(Week 4, Term 1)
from 10.00am - 3.00pm

 Venue: South Australian Museum,
North Terrace, Adelaide (Main Entrance)

Please note that the Network Day will start at 10.00am in line with the daily opening time of the South Australian Museum. 
Participants are to meet at the main entrance (North Terrace).

FOCUS OF PROFESSIONAL NETWORK MEETING:

• 10.00am-11.30am  - Guided Tour of the Aboriginal Cultures Gallery Tour with Tjimari Sanderson-Milera from Kumarninthi (over 3,000 individual items across two floors). 
• 11.30am-1.00pm - Catholic Education SA Network Meeting and lunch (provided by the South Australian Museum Cafè)
• 1.00pm-2.30pm - Guided Tour of the Botanical Gardens Native Plants with Tjimari Sanderson-Milera from Kumarninthi.

INTENDED FOR:

Aboriginal Education Focus Teachers.

Participants are encouraged to bring their own device to the session.

• Tjimari Sanderson-Milera from Kumarninthi. 
  

AITSL Australian Professional Standards for Teachers include:

• Standard 1: Know students and how they learn (focus area 1.4)
• Standard 2: Know the content and how to teach it (focus area 2.4)
• Standard 6: Engage in professional learning (focus area 6.2)

REQUIREMENT:

Participants are encouraged to wear suitable clothing and walking shoes, and to bring along a water bottle, and wear a hat and use sunscreen in warm weather. 

Lunch will be provided (Mixed platters of baguettes and wraps, and coffee, tea and filtered water will be available). Please advise if you have dietary requirements.
