Gifted Education Symposium

CESA is registered for Griffith University's annual Gifted Education Symposium professional development experience and we would like to invite you to attend. 

It will take place at the CEO on Thursday 26 October 2023 from 8.45-3.45pm, where we will join online with world-renowned guest speakers. 

Lunch will be provided.

This year's theme is 'Supporting Gifted Learners in the Classroom'.

The PD event will feature expert guest speakers: 

• Professor June Maker, PhD, Litt.D., Professor Emerita, Department of Disability and Psychoeducational Studies, University of Arizona, presenting on the Maker Model of curriculum differentiation.
• Professor Don Ambrose, PhD, Editor, Roeper Review, Professor of Graduate Studies, Rider University, presenting on the importance of creativity in education along with practical examples of creative thinking strategies.
• Ms Shelley Millhouse, BEd, mCOGE, Manager Gifted and Highly Able, Inclusion and Cultural Diversity, Tasmanian Department for Education, Children and Young People, presenting on managing academic challenge for gifted learners.
• Dr Michelle Ronksley-Pavia, PhD, School of Education and Professional Studies, and the Griffith Institute for Educational Research, Griffith University, presenting on Strength-based approaches for supporting twice-exceptional learners.

The Symposium will be a great opportunity for educators and education leaders to gather from across Australia and internationally, to learn from world experts about best practice, research-based strategies, and opportunities for supporting the engagement and talent development of diverse gifted learners in Australian schools.
