Workshop Description

Micro-credentials offer a dynamic and contemporary way of recognising learning. Micro-credentials can be constructed for learners of all abilities, with a focus on the skills that a student demonstrates. Micro-credentials can also be used to recognise staff professional learning delivered within your school.

The purpose of the workshop is to provide educators within South Australian Catholic Schools with the knowledge, skills and resources designed for CESA to be able to offer high quality micro-credentials to primary and secondary students. Educators will use digital templates developed for Catholic schools in SA, to construct micro-credentials that are high quality and consistent with the National Micro-credential Framework. This practical workshop will focus on transforming learning or projects already undertaken by students in Catholic schools, to become microcredentials.

CESA is partnering with Educonomy to ensure high level expertise and support for schools.

The workshop includes:

  • Exemplars of micro-credentials, built for CESA based on the feedback provided by Catholic schools.
  • Information about how to assess micro-credentials that is not onerous but achievable.
  • Facilitated discussion of the examples of micro-credentials that could be appropriate to offer to Upper Primary, Middle School and Senior Secondary students in Catholic schools.
  • Support from Educonomy at the workshop to begin developing micro-credentials contextualised for your school community.
  • Transforming learning or projects already undertaken by students in your schools, to be micro-credentials.
  • Ways to micro-credential professional learning for staff.

Morning tea and lunch will be provided
