COURSE DESCRIPTION

The neurology and psychology of behaviour and learning underpin the Understanding and Supporting Behaviour Modules.  Each module is a day of professional learning and can stand alone. However, they have been designed sequentially. The modules are aimed at early careers teachers but are not limited to them. The modules will be delivered sequentially across the 4 school terms. You are encouraged to attend all 4 modules.

MODULE 1: POSITIVE CLASSROOM CULTURE – FOUNDATIONS

This module is based on a Positive Behaviour Intervention Support (PBIS) philosophy. It will provide an understanding, evidence base and experience of Tier 1 interventions. At this level the focus is on pedagogy and activities that build interpersonal rapport, knowledge and understanding of students and developing a positive classroom culture.
