How the Moderation Process Will Work
An inter-assessor reliability check will be conducted over the three days between designated pairs of schools with monitored oversight and input by Chris Payne – Education Advisor, EALD and International Education.

  • Monday 29 May: Each school representative (EALD Lead Teacher) will upload, to their relevant school folder, language assessment evidence.
  • Wednesday 31 May to Thursday 1 June: Each school has up to 48 hours (Wednesday – Thursday) to independently assess their partner school’s language sample using the LEAP Levels.
  • By 5pm Thursday 1 June: Each school uploads their record of evidence sheet for comparison of assigned level and follow up moderating conversations.

More detailed procedural information will be provided to participants closer to the time.
