Teacher Mentors Workshop
Designated Teacher Mentors and Evaluators provide advice and support to preservice and early career teachers in teacher formation and development, planning and programming, pastoral support and care, professional mentoring, advocacy, and assistance to transition from Graduate to Proficient teacher (ie gaining full teacher registration).
Early Career and Teacher Certification Advisors will present two one day workshops for Teacher Mentors, those with preservice and early career teacher supervision responsibilities and those responsible for coordinating the teacher registration process to move to full registration.
Topics covered include:
- · The role of Mentor Teachers
- · Evidence the ECT may collect and how Mentor Teachers can support them in the process
- · How Mentor Teachers get to know early career teachers, their strengths, and needs
- · Conducting professional conversations and undertaking observation of practice
- · How Mentor Teachers can use their work with early career teachers to evidence the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers for use in the certification process as a Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher

Time: 8.30am for 9.00am start to 4.00pm
Duration: 2 days (registration for Day 1 will automatically register you for Day 2)
