Professional Learning Workshop
Nurturing Pilgrims or Educating Tourists?

With Kerri Dent

Thursday 23 August – 8:45am to 4:00pm

Term 3, Week 6

Student engagement is an important aspect of the learning cycle. RE like any other Key Learning Area strives to maximise student engagement through a variety of means.

This day will explore that as well as look at the deeper question of meaning making. Are we educating our students about Christianity and Catholicism or are we inviting them into a journey of faith? The title 'Nurturing Pilgrims or Educating Tourists' is borrowed from the work of Dr Dan White, Director of Catholic Schools in Sydney and author of a number of DEEP thinking books.

This course is for Primary teachers of
RE and APRIMs and RECs.

Cost: $45 if paid by school

$49.50 if paid by individual (GST must be charged)

$25 if concession

Can be used as a System Accredited Module if participation
is full day AND a 1500 reflection task is completed.
