Where:
The Highway

Microcredentials are a contemporary and innovative way of recognising student learning that is not part of the defined curriculum. From the consultation with Catholic schools across Terms 1 and 2 this year, Primary and Secondary schools have identified learning programs and activities already being undertaken within their school that could be microcredentialed.
Microcredentials offer a contemporary way of recognising and celebrating student learning, with a focus on the skills that a student demonstrates. Microcredentials can be constructed for learners of all abilities.
Teachers and Leaders of Learning in Catholic schools are invited to attend a full day of professional learning on Monday 7 November 2022 at The Highway, Anzac Highway.
The purpose of the workshop is to provide educators within South Australian Catholic Schools with the knowledge, skills and resources designed for CESA to be able to offer high quality microcredentials to primary and secondary students.
CESA is partnering with Educonomy to ensure high level expertise and support for schools.
The workshop includes:
- An overview of the CESA Microcredential template, which provides a structure for planning and documenting the content and assessment of microcredentials in Catholic schools.
- Training about how to use the template and other tools in the toolkit to plan and deliver microcredential learning within your school.
- Introduction to exemplars of microcredentials, built for CESA based on the feedback provided in Term 2 by schools.
- Information about how to assess microcredentials that is not onerous but achievable.
- Facilitated discussion of the examples of microcredentials that could be appropriate to offer to Upper Primary, Middle School and Senior Secondary students in Catholic schools.
- Support from Educonomy at the workshop to begin developing microcredentials contextualised for your school community
- Transforming learning or projects already undertaken by students in your schools, to be microcredentials.
This is a practical workshop. Educators attending the workshop will begin planning a microcredential on the day.
