This course comprises three sessions.
Target audience: R-7
Total cost: $130.35
First Steps Viewing aims to support teachers to develop students' knowledge, understanding and skills in the process of reading, viewing and creating multimodal texts, which is an integral part of the Australian Curriculum English.
The course develops an understanding of how the semiotic systems (linguistic, visual, audio, gestural and spatial) work in the context of reading texts and viewing events. Participants will be exposed to a range of print and digital texts and given ways to explore how the texts have been purposefully constructed.
Throughout the course, links will be made with the three strands of the Australian Curriculum English.
