The workshop will include the following guest presenters:
Simone Ulalka Tur and Faye Blanch – Indigenous Academics from Yunggorendi First Nations Centre, Flinders University: Simone and Faye will facilitate an interactive session on developing appropriate teaching and learning strategies for reconciliation; examining racialisation and its impact on Indigenous Australians and demonstrating culturally inclusive practices. This session will involve discussions about appropriate terminology, reconciliation pedagogy and Rapping Curriculum.
Tony Hole – Literacy Consultant, CESA: Tony will present an interactive session designed around the question, ‘How can the General Capabilities frame your planning of a unit of work with an Indigenous perspective?’
Kelli Lewis – Indigenous Education Consultant: Kelli will address the importance of parent/community engagement in the Reconciliation process and introduce us to an effective model for developing a school RAP (Reconciliation Action Plan).
Marti Madigan – Christian Brothers College: Marti will share her insights and experiences with us regarding the Inquiry Project she undertook in 2011.
