Presented by Rev Dr James McEvoy
9am to 1pm - Wednesday 11th, Thursday 12th & Friday 13th July 2012
This Module is a study of the concepts of grace, freedom and original sin at key periods of the Christian tradition. It begins with an analysis of the contemporary notion of freedom from the perspectives of theology and political philosophy. It then turns to the biblical view of the human. The concepts of grace and original sin are examined in the thought of Augustine, Aquinas and Rahner. The significance of freedom, grace and original sin for contemporary life is pursued.
