Description

This one-day professional learning opportunity is a joint initiative between Catholic Education South Australia (CESA), the Research Centre for Languages and Cultures (RCLC at the University of South Australia) and St Michael’s College.

It will provide participants (up to 15 places are available) a grounding in the pedagogical principles and practices on Content & Language Integrated Learning (CLIL), with some focus on the integration of the teaching of Italian and Religious Education at Year 9 level. This introduction to a CLIL model will be further supported throughout 2022, with an in-depth look at CLIL.

The content for this one-day PL opportunity will be as follows:

  • History and Background of CLIL (RCLC)
  • Theoretical concepts and frameworks (RCLC)
  • Pedagogical principles and underpinnings of CLIL(RCLC)
  • St Michael’s Model (St Michael’s Languages Staff)
