Intended For:
Teachers of EALD learners in the Middle and Secondary years
The LEAP Levels are used to assess the English language progress of EALD learners and to identify their English language learning goals.
The LEAP Levels TargetedStrategies provide excellent ideas, but you may feel that you need to build your own knowledge a bit more in order to feel confident to teach, and model, cohesive devices such as sentence openers and passive voice. Therefore, in this workshop teachers will:
Consider the language choices and function of varied sentence openers
Learn about active and passive voice structures and purpose
Participate in modelled and guided strategies for teaching passive voice to learners of EALD
Main references/resources will be the LEAP Levels 7-14 and LEAP Strategies. Please bring copies of these documents to the workshop.
If you are in a country location, participation via Teams can be arranged by request; however for full engagement, attend in person is recommended.
