Workshop Description
In 2021, the First Years of School Literacy Assessment (formerly named Early Years Assessment), will be in its fourth year as CESA’s early literacy data collection tool. This schedule of Literacy assessments occurs from Reception-Year 2.
This training is for Literacy leaders and teachers working in Reception-Year 2 settings (who have not already undertaken this training). Please note that all Reception-Year 2 teachers undertaking FYSLA are required to be familiar with relevant assessment practices.
The half-day training will provide opportunities to examine FYSLA assessment practices and procedures which will provide data about children’s learning in their first years of school.
The First Years of School Literacy Data Analysis Tool (which replaces the previous CEBASE tool) will be introduced within the training. The new tool provides efficiencies in data entry and better enables teachers and schools to record, observe and analyse children’s literacy learning from Reception-Year 2.
