Intended Audience Year 1 Teachers and Leaders of Learning new to the Phonics Screening Check
Workshop Description
The Year 1 Phonics Screening Check (PSC) is mandated in all CESA Diocesan schools in 2021, with Separately Governed Schools strongly encouraged to participate.
The PSC is a 5–7-minute assessment for children in Year 1. The check is undertaken with children 1:1 by their class teacher. It is a diagnostic tool used to provide information about how students in Term 3 of Year 1 are progressing in Phonics and Word Knowledge as per the Australian Curriculum.
