Teacher Certification: Assessor Training

Highly Accomplished or Lead certified teachers, Principals, Deputy Principals, other school leaders, system coaches and system leaders are encouraged to undertake the AITSL Certification Assessor Training Program. Whilst the course is primarily to train assessors to meet the anticipated demand of teachers seeking certification, it will also inform participants about the process and requirements for certification. On that basis, it is excellent professional learning for teachers and leaders of learning at all levels.

As an assessor, individuals will gain a much richer insight into the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers and how these can be used to:

• ·                Utilise and embed reflective practice
• ·                Improve the use of effective classroom observation and feedback
• ·                Evidence teacher impact on students, learning outcomes and teacher colleagues.

The program requires the successful completion of three online modules combined with three days of face to face workshops (attendance at all three face to face workshops is a requirement).
