Registration

More than 100 CESA teachers are currently engaged in the certification process .  Teachers who consider they meet the criteria to be either a Highly Accomplished or Lead Teacher, are invited to participate in the certification process after attending an initial HALT Certification information workshop.

Professional learning support will be provided via two further compulsory workshops:

  • ·            Annotating Evidence
  • ·            Classroom Observation

Across the three sessions, teachers will:

·            Explore all requirements for applying for certification as a Highly Accomplished or Lead teacher

·            Explore the importance of writing clear, precise annotations that align evidence to each of the descriptors in the Teacher Professional Standards

·            Be provided with opportunities to discuss the types of ongoing evidence that may be collected to evidence their application

·            Have access to a supportive network to assist with the application process for certification

·            Be able to structure applications, write annotations and analyse evidence sets with others to evaluate suitability.

Schools or regions with more than ten interested teachers may negotiate with Adrian Dilger for these workshops to be held onsite (or hosted by a school in the region). Adrian is also committed to supporting regional and rural schools and regions by negotiation.

Teachers interested in undertaking the certification process are invited to attend an information session at the Catholic Education Office or online. This session, which is compulsory for any teacher intending to apply, will outline the application process and available support. CEO will cover the usual $500 application fee and applications can be submitted on a rolling basis at any time teachers are ready.

HALT Certification: Annotating Evidence Workshops

Teachers will be required to submit one annotated evidence set in the term prior to submitting their application for certification. In order to develop awareness of requirements and to build capability in annotating evidence, teachers undertaking the certification process are invited to attend an Annotating Evidence Workshop after they have attended the General Information Workshop.

HALT Certification: Classroom Observations Workshops

Classroom observations are a critical component of quality teacher practice and form a key element to the certification process. In order to develop awareness of requirements and to build capability in classroom observations, teachers undertaking the certification process are invited to attend a Classroom Observations Workshop.

HALT Certification: Information, Annotation and Classroom Observations Workshops

All three workshops listed above can be covered by attending a full one day workshop encompassing all three components.
