Early Career Teachers Spiritual and Religious Formation

The Staff Spiritual and Religious Formation Team is excited to offer schools the opportunity to be part of a trial program aimed at providing a formation experience for teachers early in their careers in Catholic Education. Your nomination of a participant is welcome as outlined below.

We acknowledge the valuable work that you and your schools do in inducting, mentoring and developing passionate teachers and recognise the opportunities and challenges experienced in this space. This offering aims to support this through the provision of targeted and specialised spiritual and religious formation for early career teachers.

Through this residential trial program we aim to support and companion teachers early in their career in Catholic Education (less than 5 years in the sector) who are employed in a Catholic school in 2021.

This Spiritual and Religious Formation trial will provide an opportunity to: 

• Provide enhanced spiritual and religious formation as part of their induction into Catholic Education South Australia
• Provide pastoral, spiritual and mentoring support for new teachers to the sector
• Companion participants to support their ongoing formation
• Inspire personal faith and prayer life of educators
• Deepen teachers’ experience and understandings in order to support their key role as educators and witnesses within the Catholic school environment
• Collect data to map longitudinal impact of formation programs on teacher satisfaction and commitment in supporting the mission and vision of their schools and Catholic Education South Australia
• Develop a deeper understanding and appreciation of the vision and values of Catholic Education South Australia.

CESA will cover the costs including program materials, accommodation, catering and 1 days TRT.
