INDUCTION MODULE COMPONENTS

1: Catholic Schools Identity & Mission explores the nature of Catholic schools and the vocational call for all staff to be witnesses to and support schools' Catholic identity and mission, along with general information about CESA services.

2: Professional Standards and Responsibilities provides important information about professional expectations, employment and legal obligations, rights, responsibilities and duty of care. Special attention is drawn to the CESA Code of Conduct and to the cross-sectorial document Protective Practices.

3: Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum Training. All teachers in SA Catholic schools are required to complete Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum Training. This training is required before teachers can teach the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum. (Please note that Responding to Abuse and Neglect is a separate mandatory requirement).

Teachers choose and register for each of the three Induction Module components are required.

e.g. Teacher A, a first year graduate, has not undertaken any of the components and so registers for all three components (Option 1).

e.g. Teacher B, joining Catholic Education SA from another sector or from teaching interstate, has completed the Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum elsewhere and so registers for Components 1 & 2 (Option 2).

e.g Teacher C, a new graduate employed in the Dicoese of Port Pirie, attended that Diocese' Induction Day (equivalent of Component 1) in Port Pirie in Term 1, and so registers for Components 2 & 3 (Option 3).
