Thriving People Primary
CARDIJN COLLEGE - WEDNESDAY 6 NOV 2019
OR
GLEESON COLLEGE - THURSDAY 7 NOV 2019
Thriving People Primary is a program offered by Catholic Education SA’s Aboriginal Education Team. This program engages Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students from Reception to Year 6 in SA Catholic Primary schools and gives students an opportunity to express themselves and deepen their understanding of their cultural heritage and identity. This program is funded by CESA therefore the only cost to schools is transport and release of supervising staff.
Thriving People Primary will be held over two days and two venues. Choose from:
Cardijn College - Wednesday 6th November (9.30am – 2.15pm)
Gleeson College - Thursday 7th November (9.30am – 2.15pm)
Both days will commence with Ceremony following which students will be divided into four groups and rotate between four activities during the day. These groups will be led by artists and custodians from the Aboriginal Cultural Resident Program. Students will learn about history and culture through activities, including hunting, cooking, dancing, language and art. Both days will conclude with Ceremony.
Aboriginal Education Team members and school staff will be in attendance to supervise the program as per the SACCS Excursions Policy.
Students will be required to wear their sports uniform and are asked to bring their own recess, lunch and drink. Please ensure they bring hats and sunscreen for outdoor activities.
RSVP here by entering one registration PER CHILD and PER TEACHER. An email has been sent to Focus Teachers with the CESA Consent Form.
