Workshop Information
The Learning and Technologies Team, in partnership with STEM Fast Track, are delighted to offer 30 fully funded placements for Years 10 & 11 female students from CESA schools, to participate in the 2019 STEM Sista programs.
Delivered by leading entrepreneurship facilitators STEM Fast Track, the program is facilitated as a STEM-oriented networking event and professional development course for young people in schools, who wish to increase their chances of starting a successful career in STEM industries. The key purpose of the STEM Sista program, is empowering the emerging generation with knowledge and development to become prepared to take on a STEM-driven future with conviction.
The key purpose of the STEM Fast Track partnership, is to amplify practices and approaches in animating the educational objectives and priorities of the Living Learning Leading Framework, in order to build the entrepreneurial mindset and student agency of young people, in addition to the engagement of young people, particularly women, in STEM.
The event will be delivered in metropolitan locations and is designed to empower our young women considering a career in STEM by:
- Introducing them to a variety of STEM professions – up to 12 STEM Guest Speakers will join the program and share their experiences
- Introducing them to life skills – how to set and achieve goals, manage their money and understand that their choices and attitudes influence their journey and achievements
It is envisaged that schools will nominate up to 2 - 3 girls from Years 10 & 11 to participate in their nominated program. It is expected that a teacher would attend the program each day in a supervisory role.
The nominated School Contact will receive confirmation of participation as soon as possible.
