Social Justice Simulation Inservice

This In-Service Day offers training on how to facilitate the social justice simulation, Justicecountry, a simulation designed to engage secondary students in the issue of social justice and inequity in the Australian context.

The in-service day will be conducted by Leo Keegan, a Sydney based Education Consultant who designed the simulation and has facilitated it with over 3000 Australian students.

Participants will receive:        

  • One day’s training on how to facilitate the Simulation by participating in the exercise
  • Instruction on how Justicecountry links with Groome’s Praxis Model and Catholic Social Teaching such as Pope Leo Xlll encyclical Rerum Novarum (On Capital and Labour)
  • A 21 page ‘Student Manual’ and a 25 page ‘Teacher’s Handbook’
  • A DVD of resources including a collection of 800 articles on social justice issues
  • An option to use the day as a ‘System Accredited Module’

Intended for:  Coordinators of Social Justice, APRIMs/RECs, teachers of HASS, Legal Studies, Religious Education and Youth Ministers

Cancellation policy applies 48 hours notice must be given or applicant will be charged the workshop fee.  If withdrawing after this time due to illness or extenuating circumstances, the cost for catering will be invoiced.
