Intended Audience

This one-day face-to-face workshop provides the training required for:

  • NAPLAN Coordinators in schools that are conducting the NAPLAN Online Tests for the first time in May 2019

    OR

  • New NAPLAN Coordinators in schools that did NAPLAN Online in May 2018

It is highly recommended that two participants from each school be trained, to provide support for each other up to and during:

  • the national Coordinated Practice Test on 28 March and
  • the NAPLAN Online 2019 test window from 14 - 24 May 2019

Focus

Participants will gain:

  • advice on correctly scheduling the NAPLAN Online program of tests to ensure all students undertake all required online tests during the test window
  • strategies for supporting their students’ and school readiness
  • thorough training in all NAPLAN Coordinator functions of the 2019 version of the NAPLAN online assessment platform, in the context of the authorised national test protocols
  • insights and strategies for in-school training of teachers to be Test Administrators using the 2019 online assessment platform, supported by nationally developed training materials

Details

Participation in this workshop will build on training provided in mid-2018. Please note that last year’s workshops are not sufficient preparation for 2019 online tests, as they were based on a superseded version of the platform and did not emphasise compliance with the national protocols.

Participants are encouraged to do some tests from the NAPLAN Online public demonstration site before attending their workshop. Those tests are available at
www.nap.edu.au/online-assessment/public-demonstration-site (scroll down to year level buttons).

Please Note

  • participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop, if it is able to access the internet outside of their school
  • computers will be available in the training venue if needed
  • no software needs to be pre-loaded before the workshop
  • the hands-on nature of the workshops means they cannot be provided via CISCO video-conferencing
  • morning tea and lunch will be provided
