Workshop Information
STEM is part of a wider transformation going on in education and society. The economic and social changes of the last few decades have bought with them a decline in routine action. Work has been increasingly outsourced to a global workforce, tasks have been automated, and social relationships have structured around networks rather than older hierarchical forms. All of this changes what we are seeking from our students. To respond to the society and economy our students now face, we need to support students to become versatile, self-managing and life-long learners who understand more about how knowledge works. To do this, teachers need to develop not just new types of practice, but new forms of professional knowledge to base their practice on.
This workshop will support school leaders to develop skills in the expansive instructional leadership that is required in these changing times. It will cover:
