The professional learning program is part of the Positive Partnerships: Working together to support school-aged students on the autism spectrum, which includes a national program of professional learning for teachers and school staff who work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and parents/caregivers information sessions. This initiative is funded by the Department of Education and Training through the Australian Government’s Helping Children with Autism package and is being delivered by Autism Spectrum Australia (Aspect).
This program is open to participants from across all 3 education sectors. Two staff members from each participating school (member of leadership and a class teacher) are required to be part of the professional learning program. Please note that TRT is not provided; however schools can claim some funding from Positive Partnerships for participation in the professional learning program.
The Professional Learning Program will be presented in Adelaide on Wednesday 8 and Thursday 9 August 2018. The course consists of a 2 day face to face workshop, completion of 2 online learning modules and the development of a school plan.
