Effective Stewardship of Resources – a Learning Series for Principals

Principals have a specific responsibility to manage school finances effectively and in ways that reflect the vision, mission and goals of the community and maximise the learning and the wellbeing of all its students. 

A panel of experienced practitioners in Finance and Leadership have designed the Effective Stewardship of Resources Modules. Each module aims to strengthen the Principal’s capacity in financial leadership and depth, participants’ knowledge, understanding and skills required for application in their current context.  It is acknowledged that participants will enter the Initiative with diverse experiences and expertise and the professional learning is designed to provide flexible and interactive approaches to learning entry points and outcomes.  

Session 1 - 28 June at CEO Conference Centre
This module will explore the sources of income to CESA and your school. How CESA distributes Government grants to your school and the relevance of private income. 

Session 2 - 5 September at Grange Golf Club
The school’s budget is a foundation aspect of the Principal’s responsibility.  This module will provide you with tools to analyse the school’s budget.  It will strengthen your capacity to understand how the budget is formulated, monitored and reported.
